ABOUT ME
I am Oana Bîrsan, visual artist active in the Romanian and international cultural space for over 20 years. A graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca, I have chosen to express myself artistically through a symbolic, poetic and decorative language, in which the tree and the leaf become essential elements - metaphors of life, continuity and human becoming.
My painting is a deep inner process. I create out of a need to connect the visible world with the subtle, to transform feelings and thoughts into images that touch the viewer’s soul. Each work is, for me, a kind of stained-glass window: fragments of color, memory and introspection, through which light passes and breaks down into multiple meanings.
I like to say that what I paint is a play of the soul in time and space – an invitation to reflection and rediscovery.
Beyond the actual creation, I am also active as a cultural manager, involved in organizing exhibitions and promoting contemporary artists.
It is my way of contributing to the development of a lively, sensitive and connected art scene.
My works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Romania, as well as in international venues in Brussels, Venice, etc. My artistic message has also been reflected in the media, through appearances on Aleph News, Metropola TV and A7TV.
Through each painting I try to create a space of tranquility, depth and revelation. A place where nature, symbols and emotion intertwine to tell a personal story – but one that can become, in turn, the story of those who view it.
