At the center of the work, a real, functional clock mechanism is integrated directly into the painting, becoming the heart of a vegetal universe in perpetual transformation. The landscape is layered in visual registers: at the top, an abstract, fragmented space dominated by textured leaves and cool shades of blue and white evokes the sky, ice, and memory. In the middle, a band of ‘geological time’ — composed of forms reminiscent of slabs or sediments — separates the past from the present. At the bottom, collaged real leaves in shades of green, yellow, and ochre suggest the cycle of life, the seasons, and ephemerality.
